Rinku Singh’s Six-Hitting Storm Snatches Victory for Meerut Mavericks in Rain-Hit Thriller

Rinku Singh once again proved why he is regarded as one of India’s most dangerous finishers, smashing an unbeaten 55 off 24 balls to guide Meerut Mavericks to a dramatic DLS victory over Lucknow Falcons in the UP T20 League 2026.

The eighth match of the UP T20 League Season 4 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium turned into a thrilling contest as rain, the DLS equation and Rinku Singh’s explosive batting combined to produce a dramatic finish.

Lucknow Falcons Post 183 Runs

After winning the toss, Lucknow Falcons elected to bat first and put up a competitive 183/6 in 20 overs.

Mohammad Saif provided a quick start with 45 runs off 32 balls, while Ajit Varma strengthened the innings with a well-made 53 off 37 deliveries, including eight fours and a six.

Late contributions from Satyam Pandey and Vipraj Nigam helped Lucknow finish with a strong total.

For Meerut Mavericks, Zeeshan Ansari and Vijay Kumar picked up two wickets each.

Meerut Lose Three Early Wickets

Chasing 184, Meerut Mavericks suffered a disastrous start. In-form opener Swastik Chhikara was dismissed in the very first over by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Abhinandan Singh then struck twice in the second over, sending Rituraj Sharma and Akshay Dubey back to the pavilion. Meerut were struggling at 22/3.

Divyansh Joshi and Divyansh Rajput then steadied the innings with a valuable 52-run partnership, bringing the Mavericks back into the contest.

Rain, DLS Drama and Rinku Singh’s Big Finish

With Meerut needing 59 runs from the final five overs, captain Rinku Singh arrived and immediately changed the momentum of the match.

In the 15th over, he attacked Abhinandan Singh and collected 19 runs. Soon after, rain interrupted the game, making the DLS calculation crucial.

At one stage, Meerut were one run behind the DLS par score after 16.3 overs. Rinku responded in typical fashion, launching the very next ball for a massive six to push his team ahead.

The next over saw complete domination from the Meerut captain. Rinku smashed 26 runs in just five balls against Navneet Kumar, taking the match firmly away from Lucknow.

Heavy rain eventually forced the game to stop after 16.5 overs. Meerut Mavericks were 154/6, exactly five runs ahead of the DLS par score, and were declared winners.

Rinku Singh Remains Unbeaten on 55

Rinku Singh finished unbeaten on a stunning 55 runs from just 24 balls, playing a match-winning knock filled with aggressive strokeplay and crucial sixes.

When rain brought an early end to the contest, Lucknow was still waiting for the game to resume, but Rinku had already ensured that Meerut Mavericks were ahead where it mattered most — on the DLS equation.
