Tata Sierra Legend Series Launched With More Features

Tata Sierra Legend Series Launched With More Features

Tata Motors has expanded the 2026 Tata Sierra lineup with the introduction of the new Legend Series. The updated variant range adds several comfort, convenience and styling features to selected trims, while also making the Sierra’s turbo-petrol powertrain available at a lower position in the variant lineup.

The Sierra already stands out in the compact SUV segment with its distinctive retro-inspired design, spacious cabin and modern equipment. With the Legend Series, Tata has focused on giving buyers more features without necessarily requiring them to move to the higher-end variants.

The new lineup introduces feature-enhanced versions of the Smart Plus, Pure, Pure Plus and Adventure Plus trims. Meanwhile, the top-spec Accomplished and Accomplished Plus variants remain unchanged.

Tata Sierra Legend Series Price

The new Smart Plus L starts at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom, which is Rs 50,000 more than the standard Smart Plus variant on which it is based.

Here is the complete pricing of the newly introduced Legend Series variants:

All prices are ex-showroom.

The top-spec Accomplished and Accomplished Plus trims have not received changes under the Legend Series and continue with their existing specifications and pricing.

Smart Plus L: More Comfort Features

The new Smart Plus L is based on the standard Smart Plus variant and adds several features aimed at improving cabin comfort and everyday convenience.

Features added:
  • Leatherette seat upholstery
  • Leatherette door pads and armrest
  • Steering-mounted audio controls
  • Auto-folding ORVMs
  • 17-inch steel wheels with wheel covers

The addition of leatherette upholstery and door-pad treatment gives the entry-level Legend variant a more premium cabin feel. The wheel covers also provide a slightly more finished exterior appearance.

Pure L: Alloy Wheels Added

The Pure L builds on the standard Pure variant and receives a couple of practical and visual upgrades.

Features added:
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Rear wiper with washer

The alloy wheels give the Pure L a more premium look, while the rear wiper and washer improve rear visibility in wet and dusty conditions.

Pure L (O): Panoramic Sunroof and More

The Pure L (O) is a new variant positioned between the Pure L and Pure Plus L.

It brings several popular convenience and premium features to the Sierra lineup.

Features added:
  • Voice-assisted panoramic sunroof
  • Automatic headlamps
  • Rain-sensing wipers

The panoramic sunroof is likely to be one of the key attractions of this variant, while automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers add convenience for everyday driving.

Pure Plus L: More Premium Cabin Features

The Pure Plus L replaces the standard Pure Plus variant and focuses mainly on improving seating comfort and convenience.

Features added:
  • 6-way power-adjustable driver seat
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Thigh support extension
  • Boss mode

These additions make the Pure Plus L more comfort-oriented, particularly for buyers who spend longer periods behind the wheel.

Adventure Plus L: Wireless Charging Added

At the higher end of the Legend Series lineup, Tata has introduced the Adventure Plus L above the standard Adventure Plus.

The major addition here is:

  • Wireless phone charger

Unlike some of the lower variants, the Adventure Plus L focuses on a relatively small but useful convenience upgrade.

Top-End Sierra Variants Remain Unchanged

The Legend Series does not cover every Sierra variant.

The Accomplished and Accomplished Plus trims continue without changes. Their equipment and pricing remain unchanged under this update.

Apart from the newly added features mentioned above, the Legend Series variants retain the specifications of their corresponding standard variants.

Tata Sierra Powertrain Options

The powertrain lineup of the Sierra remains unchanged, but Tata has revised the variant-wise availability.

One of the biggest changes is the increased accessibility of the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is now available from the Adventure trim onwards.

The Sierra continues with three engine options:

EnginePowerTorqueTransmission
1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol106 PS145 Nm6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT
1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol160 PS255 Nm6-speed AT
1.5-litre Diesel118 PS260 Nm MT / 280 Nm AT6-speed MT / 6-speed AT

MT: Manual Transmission
AT: Automatic Transmission
DCT: Dual Clutch Transmission

Turbo-Petrol Engine Becomes More Accessible

The turbo-petrol engine is one of the notable highlights of the updated Sierra range.

The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 160 PS and 255 Nm, and its availability has now been expanded lower into the Sierra’s variant lineup.

This gives buyers interested in stronger performance an option without necessarily having to choose the most expensive versions of the SUV.

What Does the Legend Series Add?

The key idea behind the Legend Series is to bridge the gap between existing variants.

Instead of forcing customers to move to a significantly more expensive trim simply to get one or two desired features, Tata has introduced intermediate variants with selected upgrades.

For example, buyers looking for alloy wheels can choose the Pure L, while customers specifically interested in a panoramic sunroof can move to the Pure L (O).

Similarly, the Pure Plus L adds several seat-related comfort features, while the Adventure Plus L brings wireless charging.

Tata Sierra Rivals

The Tata Sierra competes in a crowded midsize/compact SUV space and faces rivals including the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Tata Curvv, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton and Toyota Hyryder.

The addition of multiple Legend Series variants gives Tata another way to position the Sierra across different price and feature requirements.

Why the Legend Series Matters

The latest update is primarily about expanding the Sierra’s variant choices rather than introducing a mechanical overhaul.

Customers now have more intermediate options, with selected features available at different points in the range. The turbo-petrol engine’s expanded availability is another significant change for buyers looking for stronger performance.

At the same time, the increased number of variants means customers will need to compare equipment carefully before deciding which version fits their requirements.
