FDA Recalls Popular Zapp’s & Dirty Potato Chips Over Salmonella Risk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a voluntary recall involving popular potato chip brands Zapp’s and Dirty chips over possible salmonella contamination concerns.

According to officials, the issue may be linked to a dried milk powder seasoning used in some flavored chip products.

Consumers have been advised not to eat the affected products and to throw them away immediately as a precautionary safety measure.

Several Popular Flavors Included

The recall reportedly affects nine potato chip products sold in different bag sizes.

Some of the affected flavors include:

  • Salt and Vinegar
  • Big Cheezy
  • Sour Cream and Onion

The FDA stated that although the seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella before being used, the recall was still initiated out of caution.

No Illnesses Reported So Far

Snack manufacturer Utz confirmed that no illnesses or customer complaints related to the recalled chips have been reported so far.

However, health officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely and urging consumers to check affected products carefully.

Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as fever, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting, especially in children, elderly individuals, and people with weak immune systems.

Consumers Advised to Discard Products

Authorities are asking customers who purchased the recalled chips not to consume them under any circumstances.

The FDA recall has quickly gained attention online as consumers share warnings and product details across social media platforms.
