Playback singer and music composer A.R. Rahman’s son A.R. Ameen was involved in a car accident in Chennai’s Guindy area early Monday morning, August 10. Ameen and his friend suffered minor injuries after their car collided with a cab near the Olympia Tech Park signal.
According to reports citing police officials, the accident took place at around 3:30 am while Ameen was travelling towards Guindy with a friend. The collision reportedly occurred when the cab entered the main road from a side road near the Olympia Tech Park area.
The impact damaged both vehicles. Ameen and his friend sustained minor injuries and were taken to Kauvery Hospital for medical treatment. They were later discharged and returned home.
Cab Passenger Also Injured
A passenger travelling in the cab was also injured in the collision and was taken to Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital for treatment. The passenger was later discharged, according to reports.
The incident did not result in any major injuries, providing relief to Ameen’s family, fans and well-wishers.
Chennai Traffic Police Begin Investigation
The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has taken up the case and is investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
Police have reportedly taken both vehicles into custody as part of the investigation. Authorities are examining the circumstances of the crash, including the movement of the two vehicles at the time of the accident.

A.R. Ameen is a playback singer who has been establishing his own identity in the Indian music industry while carrying forward the musical legacy of his father, A.R. Rahman.
He recently lent his voice to the Tamil version of “Chikiri Chikiri” from Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi. Ameen has also been associated with the independent track “Bheegi Bheegi”, featuring Jasleen Royal, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
