Bengaluru Weather Update: IMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms After Heatwave in Karnataka

Bengaluru, which has been experiencing unusually high summer temperatures, is finally expected to get relief as the India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers starting April 28.

The city recently recorded temperatures as high as 36°C, which is above normal for this time of year. Despite pre-monsoon showers affecting other parts of Karnataka earlier this month, Bengaluru largely remained dry, intensifying heat conditions.

According to IMD predictions:

  • April 26–27:
    Clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures between 35–37°C
  • April 28 – May 1:
    Light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected 🌧️
    Gusty winds reaching 40–50 km/h likely
  • Night temperatures: Around 23°C

Even during rainfall, daytime temperatures are expected to stay around 35–36°C, meaning humidity and warm conditions may still persist.

    Light rain with winds of 30–40 km/h, humid conditions continue

    Light rainfall and gusty winds expected
