Nayara Energy Cuts Petrol & Diesel Prices Across India

Motorists have received welcome relief as Nayara Energy has reduced petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre across its retail fuel stations from July 1, 2026.

The move follows a sharp decline in global crude oil prices after geopolitical tensions in the Middle East eased, bringing down input costs for refiners.

The price revision applies to nearly 7,000 Nayara fuel stations across India, making it the first major retail fuel price reduction by a private fuel retailer in recent months.

The revised prices came into effect from the early hours of July 1.

  • Diesel: ₹98.84/litre
Maharashtra (Selected Locations)

  • Diesel: ₹97.99/litre

Fuel prices may vary slightly depending on the district due to transportation costs and local taxes.

Why Have Fuel Prices Fallen?

The price reduction comes after international crude oil prices softened significantly.

Major Reasons
  • Middle East tensions have eased.
  • Concerns over supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz have reduced.
  • Global crude shipments have normalized.
  • Refinery input costs have declined.

On July 1, Brent Crude was trading around $73 per barrel, much lower than levels seen during recent geopolitical tensions.

Immediate Relief for Consumers

The latest price cut offers direct savings to motorists.

Petrol

A vehicle with a 40-litre tank will now save:

₹200 per refill

Diesel

A 40-litre diesel refill now costs:

₹120 less

For frequent commuters and commercial vehicle owners, the savings can be significant over time.

Nayara Energy’s Retail Network

Nayara Energy operates:

  • Nearly 7,000 fuel stations across India.
  • A 20-million-tonne-per-year refinery at Vadinar, Gujarat.

The company is among India’s largest private fuel retailers.

Will IOC, BPCL & HPCL Also Reduce Prices?

As of now, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) have not announced any reduction in retail petrol or diesel prices.

Current Delhi fuel prices at IOC outlets remain:

FuelDelhi Price
Petrol₹102.12/litre
Diesel₹95.20/litre

Industry experts believe continued stability in crude oil prices could increase pressure on public-sector oil companies to review retail prices.

Why Prices Differ Across States

Even after Nayara’s reduction, fuel prices continue to vary because of:

  • State VAT
  • Local taxes
  • Freight & transportation costs
  • Dealer commission

As a result, prices at Nayara outlets may differ slightly between cities and districts.
