Middle East War Impact: Russia Assures India on Oil & Gas Supply Amid Hormuz Crisis

Tensions across West Asia continue to escalate after the recent Iran-Israel conflict and fears of possible fresh military action involving the United States. The situation has increased concerns of a major global fuel crisis, especially after disruptions around the strategically important Hormuz Strait.

As panic grows worldwide over possible shortages of crude oil and natural gas, Russia has issued a major reassurance for India. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow will continue supplying oil, natural gas, and coal to India without any interruption.

Lavrov said Russia has always fulfilled its energy responsibilities toward India and will ensure that all existing agreements between both countries remain unaffected despite the geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

He also highlighted the deep friendship between India and Russia, stating that the partnership between the two nations is based on trust, strategic cooperation, and long-term relations.

During an interview ahead of his expected New Delhi visit, Lavrov praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called him one of the most powerful global leaders. According to him, Modi’s leadership is helping India strengthen itself economically, militarily, and culturally.

Russia further confirmed that cooperation with India in major projects, including the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, will continue smoothly. Lavrov also warned against attempts by external forces to weaken India-Russia relations.

The Hormuz Strait remains one of the world’s most important oil transportation routes. Any prolonged disruption there could impact global fuel prices and supply chains. Because India imports a large portion of its energy requirements, the situation has raised concerns about possible price hikes and shortages.

However, Russia’s latest assurance has brought major relief for India at a time when global energy markets remain under pressure. 🌍🛢️
