Jaipur-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express Flagged Off, Major Connectivity Boost for Bihar and Rajasthan
In a major development for rail passengers traveling between Rajasthan and Bihar, Indian Railways has officially launched the Jaipur (Khatipura)-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express. The new train service was flagged off on Sunday by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
The launch is expected to significantly improve travel convenience for migrant workers, students, business travelers, and families who frequently move between the two states.

Train to Strengthen Rajasthan-Mithila Relations
Speaking at the launch event, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the new train service would strengthen social and cultural ties between Rajasthan and the Mithila region of Bihar.
According to the minister, improved rail connectivity will encourage greater interaction between communities while making travel easier and more affordable for passengers.
India’s First Mega Coaching Terminal Opens
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of India’s first Mega Coaching Terminal at Khatipura.
Built at a cost of approximately ₹205 crore, the facility has been designed as a modern railway maintenance hub capable of servicing multiple categories of trains, including:
- Vande Bharat trains
- LHB coaches
- DEMU trains
- Other passenger train sets
The terminal has a maintenance capacity of around 450 trains every month, making it one of the most advanced railway facilities in the country.
Samrat Choudhary: Bihar Residents Will Benefit the Most
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the train would provide special benefits to thousands of migrant workers from Bihar who are employed in Rajasthan.
He described the service as a valuable gift for the people of Bihar and noted that it would offer a convenient transportation option for those traveling for employment, education, business, and family-related purposes.
Six-Day Weekly Service for Passengers
The Jaipur-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express will run six days a week and is expected to become a preferred travel option for passengers seeking affordable and comfortable rail connectivity between the two states.
Railway officials believe the service will help reduce travel difficulties while improving mobility for a large section of passengers.
Passenger Facilities Expanded at 41 Stations
Alongside the train launch, Indian Railways also announced the expansion of passenger amenities at 41 small and medium-sized stations under North Western Railway.
The upgraded facilities are aimed at improving passenger comfort, accessibility, and overall travel experience across the railway network.
