Brabus has unveiled an ultra-exclusive version of its Urban E electric motorcycle in collaboration with Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design. Called the Brabus Urban E Fragment Edition, the special model will be limited to just 10 units worldwide and carries a starting price of $50,000 in North America.

The limited-edition electric motorcycle was developed alongside French electric motorcycle manufacturer DAB Motors. While the Fragment Edition retains the standard Urban E’s core mechanical package, Brabus and Fragment have given it a dramatically different visual identity focused on a minimalist black-and-white theme.
Only 10 Units Will Be Produced
The biggest attraction of the new motorcycle is its extreme exclusivity. Brabus and Fragment Design are producing only 10 examples of the Urban E Fragment Edition.
The motorcycle is priced at $50,000 in North America, while its European price is listed at €45,000. That makes it almost twice as expensive as the standard Urban E, which was introduced in Europe at €22,900.
Rather than introducing major mechanical upgrades, Brabus has positioned the Fragment Edition as a collector-focused luxury motorcycle where design, exclusivity and branding are the primary selling points.
Minimalist Black-and-White Design
The Urban E Fragment Edition gets an unmistakable black-and-white appearance.
Much of the bodywork is finished in black, while several components use exposed carbon fiber. These include the:
- Front fender
- Rear hugger
- Belly pan
- Motor side cover
- Rear winglets
The motorcycle also features white carbon-fiber wheel covers, white Brembo brake calipers and a distinctive white Brabus Masterpiece leather seat.
The seat features Brabus’ signature Shell quilting pattern, adding a premium appearance to the otherwise minimalist design.
One of the most interesting details is hidden inside the translucent rear LED taillight. The Fragment logo is integrated directly into the light, giving the motorcycle a subtle but recognizable connection to Hiroshi Fujiwara’s design label.
How Hiroshi Fujiwara Became Involved
The collaboration reportedly started after Fujiwara encountered the Urban E during Milan Design Week.
Fujiwara was impressed by the motorcycle’s design and saw an opportunity to reinterpret it through the minimalist aesthetic associated with Fragment Design.
According to the project description, Fujiwara liked the idea of taking an existing design and pushing it in a different direction—a philosophy that he felt was shared by both Fragment and Brabus.
That chance encounter eventually developed into the limited-edition motorcycle now being presented as the Urban E Fragment Edition.
37 HP Electric Motor and 75 MPH Top Speed
Despite its $50,000 price tag, the Fragment Edition retains the standard Urban E’s powertrain.
The electric motorcycle uses a brushless electric motor producing:
- Peak power: 37 hp
- Continuous power: 8 kW
- Claimed torque: 350 lb-ft
- Top speed: 75 mph
- Drive: Carbon belt
Brabus says the motorcycle features specially programmed engine management designed to improve throttle response. A dedicated inverter can deliver additional current to the motor under load.
Carbon-fiber cooling ducts positioned on both sides of the motorcycle help direct air toward the motor, allowing it to maintain performance during hot weather and extended riding.
7.1 kWh Battery With Up to 93 Miles of City Range
Power comes from a 72-volt, 7.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Brabus quotes a maximum city range of approximately 93 miles, while the DAB Motors WMTC combined-cycle figure is around 75 miles.
Charging times are listed at approximately:
| Charging Level | Approx. Time |
|---|---|
| 50% → 100% | 90 minutes |
| 20% → 100% | 3 hours |
| 0% → 100% | 3.5+ hours |
The charging port is positioned at the front of the motorcycle, while the charging cable can be stored in a compartment located ahead of the seat.
Five Riding Modes Including Nitrous Boost
The Urban E comes with multiple electronic riding modes designed for different situations.
Sport Mode provides full power with a sharper throttle response for stronger acceleration.
Street Mode also provides full power but uses a more linear torque delivery.
Eco Mode limits the motorcycle’s top speed to around 37 mph and softens the initial torque response to improve efficiency and reduce wheelspin.
There is also a Reverse Mode, which uses electronic phase inversion to help maneuver the motorcycle in tight spaces.
The most unusual feature is Nitrous Mode. Despite its name, this is an electronic boost function rather than conventional nitrous injection. It can provide maximum phase current to the motor for up to 10 seconds.
Premium Brembo Brakes and Adjustable Suspension
The motorcycle uses a steel double-cradle frame, steel trellis subframe and cast-aluminum swingarm.
Suspension equipment includes:
- Fully adjustable 46mm inverted front fork
- CNC-machined rear shock
- Approximately 3.9 inches of suspension travel
Braking hardware comes from Brembo.
At the front is a 320mm floating disc with a white-painted four-piston radial-mount Brembo caliper. The rear uses a 240mm disc with a single-piston Brembo caliper.
ABS is standard on both wheels.
The standard Urban E weighs approximately 320 pounds, while its adjustable seat height ranges from 31.5 to 34.6 inches.
Digital Features and Keyless Operation
The Urban E Fragment Edition also receives modern electronic equipment.
Instead of a conventional ignition key, the motorcycle uses a PIN-code starting system.
A compact 2.8-inch LCD display provides information including:
- Speed
- Battery level
- Charging status
- System temperature
The motorcycle also features CNC-machined aluminum levers and brake-fluid reservoirs, integrated turn signals and a projector-style headlamp.
Vertical daytime-running lights are positioned on either side of the monocoque-style tank and seat fairing.
What Makes the $50,000 Price Different?
Mechanically, the Fragment Edition is largely the same motorcycle as the considerably cheaper standard Urban E.
That means buyers are primarily paying for design, exclusivity and collectability.
The key additions include the:
- Fragment Design collaboration
- Black-and-white special finish
- White Brabus Masterpiece leather seat
- White Brembo calipers
- White carbon-fiber wheel covers
- Fragment-branded translucent taillight
- Limited production of only 10 motorcycles
Brabus is also releasing matching lifestyle products alongside the motorcycle, including leather riding gloves, a riding jacket and a fleece zip hoodie.
The motorcycle is being unveiled at ComplexCon in Los Angeles, highlighting how Brabus is targeting the luxury fashion and streetwear audience as much as traditional motorcycle enthusiasts.
