The Man Who Changed Tamil Cinema Forever
With the passing of Bharathiraja at the age of 84, Indian cinema has lost one of its most influential storytellers. Revered as “Iyakkunar Imayam” (The Pinnacle of Directors), Bharathiraja revolutionized Tamil cinema by taking cameras out of studio sets and into the heart of rural Tamil Nadu.
