The Saudi side had already secured qualification for the knockout stage, but the win ensured they finished the group phase with a perfect record of six wins from six matches in Group D.
Al-Zawraa, despite the heavy defeat, progressed to the next round after finishing second in the group with nine points.

Ronaldo, who had been rested for most of the group stage, returned to the starting lineup and immediately influenced the game. Al-Nassr opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Ângelo set up Coman for the opener.
