Rohtak Becomes 6th Hottest City at 44.6°C, Heatwave Alert Across Haryana, Rain Expected Soon

🌡️ Rohtak Among India’s Hottest Cities

Haryana is currently facing extreme heat conditions, significantly impacting daily life. According to the Meteorological Department in Chandigarh, Rohtak recorded a scorching temperature of 44.6°C, which is 5.9°C above normal. This made Rohtak the 6th hottest city in India.

At the top of the list was Prayagraj with 45.2°C, followed by cities like Akola, Jharsuguda, and Amravati experiencing similar extreme temperatures.

🔥 Heatwave Conditions Across Haryana

Out of 13 major cities in Haryana, most recorded temperatures above 42°C. Key cities include:

  • Sirsa – 43.4°C
  • Hisar – 42.9°C
  • Narnaul – 42.8°C
  • Faridabad – 43.5°C

The average temperature across the state is currently 4.2°C above normal, intensifying the heatwave conditions.

The weather department has issued warnings for districts like Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh, and Palwal, where heatwave and warm nights are expected.

🌧️ Weather Change Expected Soon

Relief may arrive shortly. According to experts from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, a western disturbance is likely to become active from the night of April 25.

Due to its partial impact:

  • Cloud cover may increase
  • Thunderstorms and light rainfall are possible
  • Weather may remain changeable till April 29

Rainfall is expected to begin from the night of April 26, bringing temporary relief from the heat.

🌾 Advisory for Farmers

Agricultural experts have issued important guidelines considering the changing weather:

  • Complete harvesting and threshing of wheat and barley quickly
  • Store grains safely to avoid damage from rain
  • Avoid sowing crops like cotton, moong, urad, and sunflower for 3–4 days
  • Delay vegetable sowing (okra, bottle gourd, cucumber)
  • Avoid pesticide spraying for the next few days
  • Protect livestock from heat by keeping them in shaded, ventilated areas and providing clean water
