Tamil Nadu Voters List 2026

he final electoral roll for 2026 in Tamil Nadu has been officially released, showing a total electorate of 5,67,07,380 voters, according to data published after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The updated voter list was released by the state’s Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, marking the conclusion of an extensive verification and revision exercise.

As per the final figures, the electorate includes 2,89,60,838 women voters and 2,77,38,925 men voters, reflecting a closely balanced gender ratio across the state.

During the SIR process, Tamil Nadu recorded 97.37 lakh deletions, with urban constituencies accounting for the majority of removals. Following this clean-up, the total voter count temporarily declined to around 5.43 crore, compared to 6.41 crore in the earlier roll.

However, the claims and objections phase — conducted between December 19, 2025, and January 30, 2026 — resulted in a significant recovery. Authorities received 34,75,717 applications, both online and offline, seeking inclusion, correction, or deletion.

After scrutiny, 27.53 lakh eligible voters were added, while 4.23 lakh ineligible entries were removed, bringing the final electorate back up to 5.67 crore.

The data also highlights strong youth participation, with 12.51 lakh electors in the 18–19 age group, indicating growing awareness and enrollment among first-time voters.

Election officials said the revised roll aims to ensure greater accuracy, transparency, and inclusiveness ahead of upcoming electoral exercises in the state.
