Dubai Blast Near Burj Khalifa

A dramatic video circulating on social media has triggered speculation after an explosion and plumes of black smoke were seen rising near Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Reports suggest that an Iranian drone was spotted in the vicinity shortly before the explosion. However, there is no official confirmation yet on whether the Burj Khalifa itself was targeted or sustained any damage. As a precautionary measure, the iconic tower was evacuated earlier in the day following multiple explosions reported across parts of Dubai.

🏙️ About Burj Khalifa

Standing 828 metres tall, the Burj Khalifa dominates Dubai’s skyline and is valued at an estimated $1.5 billion. Developed by Emaar Properties, the skyscraper attracts millions of visitors annually to its observation decks on the 124th, 125th, and 148th floors, overlooking the Arabian Gulf.

The main structure of the tower is insured for around $1.5 billion, while individual residential units, offices, and hotel interiors are insured separately by their respective owners.

💥 Multiple Explosions Reported Across Dubai

Dubai has emerged as one of the Gulf cities affected by rising regional instability after Iran vowed a “decisive response” to recent US and Israeli strikes.

Earlier, an explosion was reported in the Palm Jumeirah area, where a building caught fire. Visuals showed thick smoke rising from the man-made island, while residents reported hearing several loud blasts. Emergency services were seen rushing to the site.

According to the Dubai Media Office, four people were injured in the Palm Jumeirah incident and were taken for medical treatment. Authorities later confirmed that the fire was brought under control and urged the public to avoid sharing unverified visuals online.

🚨 Drone Footage Raises Security Concerns

Another video, shared by international broadcaster Nexta TV, showed what appeared to be a Shahed drone striking an area between two buildings in a densely populated part of Dubai, triggering a powerful blast and flames. Shahed drones are considered among the most lethal unmanned aerial weapons in Iran’s arsenal.

It remains unclear whether a similar drone was involved in the incident near the Burj Khalifa.

🌍 US–Israel Strikes and Iran’s Response

The incidents come hours after the United States and Israel launched coordinated preemptive strikes on Iran, reportedly under “Operation Epic Fury.” Explosions were reported near key locations in Tehran, including areas close to the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Following the strikes, Iran closed its airspace and issued a strong warning of retaliation. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the country’s armed forces are prepared to respond forcefully to what it termed as aggression.

📌 This remains a developing situation. Authorities have not confirmed any direct strike on the Burj Khalifa, and investigations are ongoing.
