Apple has officially introduced the Apple AirTag Generation 2 in India, bringing notable upgrades aimed at making it easier for users to locate lost items such as keys, wallets, and bags.
The new AirTag is powered by a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip, the same technology used in the latest iPhone and Apple Watch lineup. According to Apple, this upgrade allows Precision Finding to guide users to their items from up to 50% farther away compared to the previous generation, using a combination of visual, audio, and haptic feedback.
Apple has also upgraded the Bluetooth hardware, expanding the range at which items can be detected. Additionally, the built-in speaker is now 50% louder, enabling users to hear alerts from up to twice the distance, making it easier to locate items hidden under cushions or inside bags.
For the first time, users can use Precision Finding on Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, further enhancing the Find My ecosystem. As with the previous version, AirTag continues to include privacy protections to prevent unwanted tracking.
